We share greeting of Cardenal Luis Antonio Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for Evangelization of the Nations, where he gives thanks to our religious family for the task that we have begun to protect and promote the dignity of the persons victims of trafficking in persons.

Luis Antonio Tagle y Gokim, cardenal in the Catholic Church, known by his simplicity and closeness, was born on July 21, 1957, in Manila, in a catholic family. His father was tagalog, his mother of Chinese origins. He was ordained as priest in 1982. He studied in united States, where he achieved a doctorate in theology with his tesis about the evolution of the notion of episcopal collegiality since Vatican II. He spent 7 years in Rome to deepen in his studies and in 1997 became a member of International Theological Commission and Catholic Bible Federation. After being parish priest in the cathedral of Imus, at the age of 44 he was named bishop of this diocese by saint John Paul II in October of 2001. He dedicated himself in a special way to the youth pastoral and inaugurated the first encounter of Asian youth in Imus. On 13th of October of 2011, Benedict XVI named him Archbishop Metropolitan of Manila and, 13 months later in November 2012, during the last consistory of Pope Ratzinger’s pontificate, he received a cardenal’s hat. He is the president of Caritas Internationalis since 2015 and in 2019 Pope Francis entrusted him the mission of being the Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Nations.
