The ultimate goal of this Declaration is not only to reformulate the essential elements of our identity in light of the historical context in which we live, but also to initiate paths that will allow us to move from theory to experience, from words to deeds. Each circumscription of the Order, as well as each community and each individual friar, will commit themselves to pray and reflect, and then decide concrete ways to put into practice the letter and spirit
of this document to help each other to live as Discalced Carmelites today. Provincial chapters will be the most appropriate place to evaluate and translate into decisions, suggestions, and proposals that arise from reading and meditating on the Declaration. In a special way, the General Superior and the Definitory will be vigilant for a fruitful practical application of this Declaration on the charism.
