MARY WOKE UP EARLY THIS MORNING. SHE JUST COULDN’T STAY LONGER IN BED. NOT THAT SHE WOULD BE SLEEPING. WHOLE NIGHT SHE WAS JUST TURNING AROUND, CHANGING POSITION, BUT SLEEP WOULDN’T COME. IT WAS USELESS TO JUST LIE DOWN. SO, IN THE COMPANY OF OTHER WOMEN, WHO ALSO SEEMED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH FALLING ASLEEP, SHE GOT UP, TOOK SOME OILS AND PERFUMES TO ANOINT THE BODY OF JESUS, AND WENT OUT.

THE BODY OF JESUS… DEAD BODY OF HER MASTER… SHE STILL COULDN’T BELIEVE THAT HE WASN’T ALIVE ANYMORE. SHE REMEMBERED SO WELL THAT TIME, WHEN SHE WASHED HIS FEET WITH HER OWN TEARS IN THE HOUSE OF SIMON THE PHARISEE. AND ONLY 6 DAYS EARLIER SHE WOULD WASHED HIS FEET AGAIN IN HER HOUSE, WHERE JESUS STOPPED ON HIS WAY TO JERUSALEM. THERE WAS ALWAYS SOMEONE WHO WOULD PROTEST: SIMON, JUDAS… WHY TODAY NOBODY WAS HERE TO STOP HER? WHY EVERYONE SEEMED JUST OK WITH WHAT HAPPENED WITH JESUS?

THE STREETS OF JERUSALEM WERE STILL COVERED IN DARKNESS. BUT SHE KNEW THE WAY, SHE REMEMBERED IT VERY WELL, SHE SAW IT WITH HER OWN EYES HOW THEY TOOK THE LIFELESS BODY JESUS FROM THE CROSS AND PUT HIM IN THIS COLD TOMB OF HIS. NOT EVEN THIS WAS HIS, BUT OF SIMON OF ARYMATEA. SHE SPED UP HER STEPS, COVERING HER FACE FROM THE COLD MORNING WIND. THEY WERE ALREADY CLOSE…

SHE LOOKED AT THE ROCK…

IT WASN’T WERE IT SHOULD BE…

THE TOMB WAS OPEN…

JESUS WAS NOT THERE…

There is this law in business called “the law of diffusion of innovations”.  It says that when any company presents some new product, it needs to hit at least 16% of population to be called success. This 16% are people who are open and courageous enough to risk and try something new. The following 68% are those who will just follow because they would see others do that. The remaining 16% are those who will buy a product because they have no other option left.

We need to remember, that Christianity started with this 16%. The target “market” of Jesus was not the mass, but those few who, like Peter, Andrew, John and James were able to leave their nets on the shore; who like Nicodemus would risk meeting him in darkness of night; who like Joseph could accept God’s surprises; who like Mary would come before the dawn to look for him… To be a Christian means to announce a dawn before it could be seen, to follow the Path even without knowing where it would lead us, to leave behind our old live when the possibility of something new would show. We are not called to follow because others do so, or because we have no other option. Our faith is a decision to risk before others will do, even when others won’t understand and won’t follow. Sometimes we may feel like bored in our life, in our faith. The solution is simple: risk to tell always the truth, even when it will make others feels uncomfortable; risk to be called crazy because of your love for the Church; risk to love and forgive always even without having reasons for that; risk to run ahead of the dawn to announce that Jesus lives!
