The Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and the International Union of Superiors General has designated February 8 as an annual day of prayer and awareness against human trafficking.

As daughters of Palau and as a Palautian family, we are called to proclaim and restore the beauty of the Church, God and humanity, especially in those most vulnerable members. It is for this reason that we want to be resolutely involved in the care of this Church that is wounded and humiliated in its most intimate and profound dignity because of the scourge of human trafficking.

Once again, we commit ourselves this year 2022, to the initiative of prayer and reflection against human trafficking that, at the request of Pope Francis, is promoted by Red Talitha Kum, the global network of Consecrated Life against trafficking, and that under the motto “The strength of care: women, economy and human trafficking”, invites us, in continuity with last year,  to continue to reflect on the connection between the economy and human trafficking. This day takes place every February 8, and the Talitha Kum Network, again this year, proposes an online World Prayer Marathon.

The Day is directed to individuals and groups, particularly

Parishes, communities, associative groups, institutions, congregations, universities, NGOs

With the agreement, we commit ourselves to:

Participate in the February 8 Prayer Marathon Against Human Trafficking.
